Background

Modules are add-ons that contains configurations, code functionalities and data. Although modules can be private, public or both, this does not restrict users / developers to tap into these resources outside of their respective modules.

Module Data is simply the data stored within a module which are accessible across your instance as long as proper reference and parameters are used.

To note, it is always up to the module publishers (ie. Insites) which data / configurations are their intellectual property (IP).
