Adding a Discount

To add a discount:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select Discounts.
  3. Select ADD DISCOUNT.
  4. Fill out the forms across the following tabs:
    • Details
    • Restrictions
    The input requirements and descriptions for each tab are discussed in a corresponding section in this article.

Details

Use this tab to record basic details about the discount, such as the discount name and code.

Input Label Type Required Description
Discount Name Input Field Yes A label used to identify the promotion in reports and management views.
Status Radio Group No

Status of the discount. You can choose a value from the following options:

  • Fixed Amount
  • Percentage
  • Free Shipping
Code Input Field Yes A unique alphanumeric string customers enter at checkout to redeem an offer (e.g., SAVE20).
Auth Policy Dropdown Field No Specifies the permission level or authentication required to apply this discount (e.g., Customer-only vs. Admin-only).
Usage Limit Number Field No The maximum number of times this discount can be used across the entire system before it expires.
Usage Count Number Field No A read-only running total of how many times this specific code has been successfully redeemed.
Usage limit per user Number Field No Restricts the number of times a single unique customer can utilize this specific discount code.
Discount Type Dropdown Field Yes

Defines the calculation logic for the discount. You can choose a value from the following options:

  • Fixed Amount
  • Percentage
  • Free Shipping
  • Fixed Shipping Discount Amount
  • Percentage Shipping Discount Amount
Minimum Cart ValueNumber FieldNoThe required minimum spend (subtotal) before the discount becomes eligible for application.
Discount Value Float Field Yes The numerical value of the discount. Represents a currency amount if 'Fixed' is selected in the 'Discount Type' field, or a multiplier if 'Percentage' is selected.

Restrictions

Use this tab to configure the discount's restrictions. Restrictions can be applied to the following:

  • Products
  • Categories
  • Events

Products

This form appears when you select the 'Products' option on the 'Applicable To' field

Input Label Type Required Description
Applicable To Radio Group No

Restricts the discount to the following options:

  • Products
  • Categories
Applicable to All Products Toggle No Determines if the discount applies to all products.
Products Multi-Select Field No Products that the discount applies to. This field is visible only when 'Applicable to All Products' is 'Enabled.'

Categories

This form appears when you select the 'Categories' option on the 'Applicable To' field

Applicable To Radio Group No

Restricts the discount to the following options:

  • Products
  • Categories
Applicable to All Categories Toggle No Determines if the discount applies to all categories.
Categories Multi-Select Field No Categories that the discount applies to. This field is visible only when 'Applicable to All Categories' is 'Enabled.'

Events

This form appears when you select the 'Events' option on the 'Applicable To' field

Input Label Type Required Description
Applicable to All EventsToggleNoWhen enabled, the discount or setting applies globally to every event in the system. Enabling this disables the 'Events' selection field.
EventsDropdown FieldYesThe specific events this record applies to. Field is displayed only if 'Applicable to All Events' is disabled.
Allocations Dropdown Field No

Maps the discount to the following entities:

  • Individuals
  • Groups
