Ecommerce System Fields

System fields are pre-defined data attributes within. These fields are designed to handle standard data required for core functionality, which you can customize for your particular application and requirements. For example, an admin user in the Instance can create and manage system fields for "brands" in the system. Data for brands can then be used when creating and managing products in the Instance.

Adding a system field item

To add a system field item:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Navigate to the tab to which you want to add a system field item.
  4. Select ADD ITEM.

These are the input requirements and descriptions for adding a system field item:

Input Label Type Required Description
Item Name String Yes Name of the system field item.
Logo Image Field No Logo used for the system field item.

Updating a system field item

To update a system field item:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Navigate to the tab containing the system field item you want to update.
  4. Find the system field item you want to update and select its Edit row action link.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. Select SAVE.

Deleting system field items

You can delete system field items using one of the following methods:

  • Deleting a single system field item
  • Deleting multiple system field items

Deleting a single system field item

To delete a single system field item:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Navigate to the tab containing the system field item you want to delete.
  4. Find the system field item you want to delete and select its Delete row action link.
  5. Finalize the deletion of the system field item using the confirmation modal.

Deleting multiple system field items

To delete multiple system field items:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Navigate to the tab containing the system field items you want to delete.
  4. Tick the checkboxes of the system field items you want to delete. Ticking the topmost checkbox selects all system field items.
  5. Select the Delete option on the bulk actions button.
  6. Select APPLY.
  7. Finalize bulk-deleting the system field items using the confirmation modal.

Importing system field items

To import a system field item:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Select the overflow menu (), then select Import System Fields.
  4. Select the CSV Template link on the 'Import System Fields' modal to download the CSV template.
  5. Use the CSV template to guide you in creating an import file that matches the input requirements in Insites.
  6. When your CSV file is ready, return to the 'Import System Fields' modal by executing steps #1 - #3.
  7. Use the clickable area on the modal to upload your CSV file.
  8. Select IMPORT SYSTEM FIELDS.

The following table displays the input requirements and descriptions for importing system field items into an Instance:

Column Header Type Required Description
UUID String No Universal Unique Identifier (UUID) of the system field item.
Value String Yes Value of the system field item.

Exporting system field items

To export system field items:

  1. Navigate to Ecommerce from the main menu.
  2. Select System Fields.
  3. Select the overflow menu (), then select Export System Fields.
