Importing and Exporting Event Item Data

This article details how you can import and export data to and from your events. It includes the following topics:

Importing events

To import events:

  1. Navigate to Events from the main menu.
  2. Select All Events.
  3. Select the overflow menu (), then select Import Events.
  4. Select the CSV Template link on the 'Import Events' drawer to download the import template.
  5. Use the CSV template as a guide for creating an import file that matches the input requirements in Insites.
  6. When your CSV file is ready, return to the 'Import Events' drawer by executing steps #1 - #3.
  7. Use the clickable area on the drawer to upload your CSV file.
  8. Select IMPORT EVENTS.

The input requirements for importing events into your Instance are displayed below:

Input Label Type Required Description
UUID String No Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) of the event.
Event NameString Yes Name of the event.
SlugString No The slug used in the event's uniform resource locator (URL).
Reference NumberString No Reference number of the event.
StatusString No Status of the event. Options include the following:

  • Enabled
  • Disabled
  • Archived
Industry UUID String No Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) of the industry under which the event is categorized
Category UUIDString No UUID of the category to which the event belongs.
Event Manager UUIDString No UUID of the event's manager.
Event Time ZoneString No Time zone of the event.
Start Date TimeString No Start date and time of the event.
End Date TimeString No End date and time of the event.
Registration Deadline DateString No Registration deadline for the event.
Notes String No Notes concerning the event.
Short Description
String No Short description of the event.
Long Description String No Long description of the event.
Event Type String No Type of event. Options include:

  • Online Event
  • To Be Announced
  • Venue
Online Event ID String No ID of the online event.
Password String No Password assigned to the event.
Link String No Link assigned to the event.
Venue UUID String No UUID of the event venue.
Venue Name String No Name of the event venue.
Venue Type String No Type of venue.
Venue Contact UUIDs String No UUIDs of the contacts assigned to the event venue.
Venue Address 1 String No Line 1 of the event venue address.
Venue Address 2 String No Line 2 of the event venue address.
Venue Address 3 String No Line 3 of the event venue address.
Venue City String No City where the event venue is located.
Venue County String No County where the event venue is located.
Venue District String No District where the event venue is located.
Venue Suburb String No Suburb where the event venue is located.
Venue State String No State where the event venue is located.
Venue Country String No Country where the event venue is located.
Venue Country Code String No Country code of the event venue.
Venue Postcode String No Post code of the event venue.
Venue Latitude String No Latitude of the event venue's location.
Venue Longitude String No Longitude of the event venue's location.
Venue Geojson String No GeoJSON of the event venue's location.
Is Sitemap Enabled Boolean No Enables or disables the event's sitemap.
Sitemap Priority Float No The priority of this event's URL relative to other event URLs on the site. Valid values range from 0.0 to 1.0. URLs are sorted in descending order.
Sitemap Order Float No The order of this event's URL in relation to other URLs having the same priority value. Similar priority URLs are sorted in ascending order.
Sitemap Changefreq Integer No An indication provided to search engines about how often this event page will likely change or be updated. Options include the following:

  • Always
  • Hourly
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Yearly
Crawlers treat the chosen values as hints, not commands. For example, crawlers may crawl pages marked 'hourly' less frequently than that.
Is Visible To Search Engines Boolean No Hide or show the ticket's page in search results.
Canonical URL String No Canonical URL to prevent duplicate content issues in SEO.
Meta Title String No Title of metadata. A good title has between 40 - 60 characters.
Meta Description String No Description of this metadata. A good meta description has between 150 - 160 characters.
Open Graph Title String No Customized title for your event's post on your chosen social media platform. The field can only be used if the 'Use Meta Title as Open Graph Title' option is turned off.
Use Meta Title As Open Graph Title Boolean No Enable this option to use your site's meta description as the Open Graph description. This tag is considered the most important tag of your event post. It typically appears as a one—or two-sentence snippet that previews the ticket post.
Open Graph Description String No A customized description for your event's post on your chosen social media platform. The field can only be used if the 'Use Meta Description as Open Graph Description' option is turned off. Write this carefully; a good description can mean the difference between getting clicks.
Use Meta Description As Open Graph Description String No Enable this option to use your site's meta description as the Open Graph description. This tag is considered the most important tag of your event post. It typically appears as a one—or two-sentence snippet that previews the ticket post.
Open Graph URL String No URL (link) that is associated with your content.
Open Graph Site Name String No The name of your site.
Open Graph Type String No Type of content your event is posted on, i.e., website, article, or blog.
Schema Content String No Schema markup for the event.
Ticket Layout String No Code editor used to customize the look and layout of your event's ticket. The tickets are generated as PDF files and automatically created when a new ticket is added, and updated when the ticket is modified.
Is FAQs Displayed Boolean No Hides or displays event FAQs on the website.
FAQs Section Heading String No Heading for the FAQs section.
FAQs Section Subheading String No Sub-heading for the FAQs section
System Field UUIDs Array No UUIDs for the system fields used by the event.
Pricing Divisions Array No Pricing divisions available for the event.
Speakers Array No The speakers assigned to the event.
Sponsors Array No The sponsors of the event.
Expenses Array No Expenses related to the event.
Tickets Array No Tickets associated with the event.
FAQs Array No Frequently asked questions regarding the event.

Exporting events

To export events:

  1. Navigate to Events from the main menu.
  2. Select All Events.
  3. Select the overflow menu (), then select Export Events.

Exporting event expenses

To export your event's expenses:

  1. Navigate to Events from the main menu.
  2. Select All Events.
  3. Find the event whose expenses you want to export, then select its Edit row action link.
  4. Navigate to the 'Expenses' tab.
  5. Select EXPORT.
