Creating a Pipeline Opportunity

To create an opportunity:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Opportunities.
  3. Select ADD OPPORTUNITY.
  4. Fill out the form for creating an opportunity.
  5. Select ADD OPPORTUNITY.

Note that you can only add opportunities to active pipelines. The field descriptions and requirements for an opportunity are as follows:

Opportunity Name Text Field Yes Name or label of the opportunity.
Opportunity Owner Dropdown Field Yes Identifies the specific contact responsible for managing the opportunity. Opportunity owners are derived from the Instance's CRM database.
PipelineDropdown FieldYesThe pipeline that the opportunity belongs to.
StageDropdown FieldYesThe pipeline stage associated with the opportunity.
Target Conversion DateDateTime FieldYesThe date and time the sale or deal is expected to be finalized. This field is used for reporting.
ValueNumeric FieldYesCaptures the estimated financial worth of the opportunity.
ContactDropdown FieldNoLinks a specific person from the CRM to the opportunity.
CompanyDropdown FieldNoLinks a specific organization from the CRM to the opportunity.
Lead Source Dropdown Field No Tracks where the lead originated, such as a website or marketing campaign. Values are populated from pipeline system fields.
Lead Referred By Dropdown Field NoIdentifies the specific contact responsible for referring the lead. Values are populated from CRM Contacts.
Probability Numeric Field No Estimates the percentage chance that the deal will close successfully.
Division Dropdown Field No Categorizes the deal by a specific business unit or department. Values are populated from pipeline system fields.
Order Dropdown Field No The ecommerce order to which you want to relate the opportunity.
Form Submission - Database Item ID Input Field No Links the opportunity to a specific form submission or record ID from an inquiry.
Status Radio Button Group No

The status of the opportunity. Options include:

  • Open
  • Won
  • Lost
  • Withdrawn
Won Reason Dropdown Field No The reason the opportunity was won. This field appears when 'Won' is selected in 'Status' and is populated from the pipeline system fields. You can require users to provide a 'won' reason via pipeline configurations. For more details, see: Requiring users to provide a 'won' or 'lost' reason for an opportunity
Lost Reason Dropdown Field No The reason the opportunity was lost. This field appears when 'Lost' is selected in 'Status' and is populated from the pipeline system fields.
