Managing Pipelines

This document guides you through the following aspects of managing the pipelines on your Instance:

  • Viewing the pipelines on an Instance
  • Updating a pipeline
  • Requiring users to provide a 'won' or 'lost' reason for an opportunity

Viewing the pipelines on an Instance

You can view all the available pipelines on your Instance using the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration. This action directs you to a page that lists all the pipelines on the Instance.
Note

Depending on their status, you can utilize filters on the user interface to find pipelines. You can choose from the following statuses:


  • Active
  • Archived

Updating a pipeline

To update a pipeline:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Find the pipeline you want to edit and select its Edit row action link.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. Select SAVE.

Requiring users to provide a 'won' or 'lost' reason for an opportunity

You may require users to provide a reason for marking a pipeline opportunity as 'won' or 'lost' using the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Find the pipeline whose 'Won Reason' and 'Lost Reason' fields you want to require and select its Edit row action link.
  4. Enable (toggle) one or both of the following fields:
    • Won Reason Required
    • Lost Reason Required
  5. Select SAVE.

Managing display fields

Display fields determine which details appear on an opportunity card while viewing a pipeline. By selecting the most relevant data points, such as deal value, key dates, or primary contacts, teams can assess the status of their work at a glance without opening individual records. This feature ensures that critical information remains front and center, allowing for quicker decision-making and more efficient pipeline management.

To manage display fields:

  1. Navigate to Pipeline from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Find the pipeline you want to update and select its Edit row action link.
  4. Navigate to the 'Display Fields' tab.
  5. Make your changes to the display fields using their toggle switches.
  6. Select SAVE.

Archiving a pipeline

Archiving pipelines can help you declutter your UI, storing away crucial data within inactive pipelines. To archive a pipeline:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Find the pipeline you want to archive and select its Archive row action link.
  4. Finalize archiving the pipeline on the confirmation modal.
Note

Opportunities under an archived pipeline are not deleted. However, they cannot be viewed if the pipeline remains archived.

Restoring an archived pipeline

To restore an archived pipeline:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Select 'Archived' on the page filter to view the list of archived pipelines.
  4. Find the pipeline you want to restore and select its Restore row action link.
  5. Finalize restoring the pipeline on the confirmation modal.

Deleting a pipeline

Deleting a pipeline removes all information contained in the pipeline, including its opportunities, immediately and permanently. To delete a pipeline:

  1. Navigate to Pipelines from the main menu.
  2. Select Configuration.
  3. Find the pipeline you want to delete and select its Delete row action link.
  4. Use the confirmation modal to finalize the deletion of the pipeline.
