The following UI elements are available for the 'String' field type:

  • *Card Select: A visual selection tool using cards.
  • Code: A code editor for snippets or scripts.
  • Color: A color picker for hex or RGB values.
  • HTML: A WYSIWYG editor for formatted web content.
  • Input: A standard single-line text field.
  • Link: A field specifically for URLs.
  • Markdown: A text editor supporting Markdown syntax.
  • Multi-line: A larger text area for paragraphs.
  • Phone: A formatted field for telephone numbers.
  • *Radio: A set of buttons for a single choice.
  • *Select: A standard dropdown menu.

UI elements marked with an asterisk (*) include additional configuration options.

All String UI elements include the following conditional field:

Mandatory Toggle No When enabled, the user must provide an input before saving the record.

Card Select

This UI element allows users to add a card select UI element to the Instance. Selecting this option displays the following fields and options in addition to the 'Mandatory' toggle field:

Value Input Field Yes Value of the card select option.
Content Input Field Yes Content of the card select option.

In addition, the system displays the following fields for the form in the 'Appearance' tab:

Show in table view Toggle No Determines if the field appears as a column in the data index.
Searchable in table view Toggle No Enables the global search bar to scan the contents of this field.
Sortable in table view Toggle No Allows administrators to reorder records alphanumerically by clicking the column header.
Help Text (Tooltip) Text Area No Informational text that appears on hover to guide the user.
Column Width in table view (%) Number Field No Defines the horizontal width (1–100%) of the column in the table view.

Code

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Code' UI element are as follows:

Color

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Color' UI element are similar to those for the 'Card Select' UI element.

HTML

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'HTML' UI element are as follows:

Link

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Link' UI element are similar to those for the 'Card Select' UI element.

Markdown

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Markdown' UI element are similar to those for the 'HTML' UI element.

Multi-line

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Multi-line' UI element are similar to those for the 'HTML' UI element.

Phone

The input requirements displayed in the 'Appearance' tab for the 'Phone' UI element are similar to those for the 'Card Select' UI element.

Radio

Selecting the 'Radio' UI element displays the following field in addition to the 'Mandatory' toggle field:

Select
