Live Features Demo

Last updated 1 November 2026

Try live updates, background job progress, file uploads and the log query, running on this site.

Each card below does real work in a background job on this site, then shows the result here the moment it is ready. There is no refresh and no polling. Open this page in a second tab, or on your phone, to see updates arrive in both.

What each card shows

  • Ask a question. A background job calls a slow service, such as an AI model, and sends the answer to your room on a channel. Calls from a job can take up to 180 seconds, so the page never waits on them.
  • Long job progress. The job sends a message after each step, and the page moves a progress bar. Use this for imports, exports, bulk emails and migrations.
  • Live activity. One room that every visitor subscribes to. This is how a live dashboard works: new orders, new leads or status changes appear for everyone viewing.
  • Send a file to another system. on uploads files as multipart/form-data, for example to an AI or OCR service, a helpdesk or an accounting system.
  • Instance log. The query reads the entries the tag writes, so you can build a support view or alerts.

Build it yourself

The full code for the question card, six short files, is on WebSockets Overview, along with how to subscribe with Server-Sent Events or a WebSocket. Background jobs are covered in Background Jobs. These features arrived in the 15 October 2026 platform update: see the change log.

If you build with an AI coding assistant, the Insites Logic Engine covers all of this, with tested examples.
