Adding Events

Adding an event consists of the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Events from the main menu.
  2. Select All Events.
  3. Select ADD EVENT.
  4. Fill out the forms across the following tabs:

    • Details
    • Venue
    • Content
    • Speakers
    • Sponsors
    • Tickets
    • Sitemap
    • Metadata
    • Open Graph
    • Schema
    • Media
    • Gallery
    • System Fields
    • Custom Fields
    • FAQs

    The input requirements and descriptions for each tab are discussed in a corresponding section in this article.

  5. Select ADD EVENT.

Details

Use this tab to provide general details about the event you are adding. The input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

Event Name Input Field Yes Name of the event.
Slug Input Field No The slug used in the event's uniform resource locator (URL).
Reference Number Input Field No Reference number used to identify the event.
Status Dropdown Field No

Status of the event. Options include the following:

  • Enabled
  • Disabled
  • Archived
Event Category Dropdown Field No The category of the event. Options are managed using Event System Fields.
Event Industry Dropdown Field No The industry to which the event belongs. Options are managed using Event System Fields.
Event Manager Dropdown Field No The manager for the event. Managers are selected from the CRM contacts list.
Event Time Zone Dropdown Field No The time zone of the event.
Start Date/Time DateTime Field No Start date and time of the event.
End Date/Time DateTime Field No End date and time of the event.
Registration Deadline DateTime Field No Registration deadline for the event.
Notes Text Area No Notes concerning the event.

Venue

Use this tab to manage basic details regarding the event venue. The table below displays input requirements and descriptions.

Online Event

Speakers

Use this tab to manage event speakers. Input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

CRM Contact Dropdown Field Yes Speaker for the event. Speakers are selected from the list of CRM contacts.
Speaker Weighting Number Field No Numerical weighting for the speaker. An example application for this value is to assign the order of speakers displayed on a landing page.

Content Code Editor No Content describing the speaker.

Sponsors

Use this tab to manage the event's sponsors. The input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

Tickets

Use this tab to manage tickets for the event. Input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

Venue Area Dropdown Field No Location of the venue. Options are managed using Venues.
Ticket Type Dropdown Field No

The type of ticket. Options include the following:

  • Individual
  • Group
Allocation/Seat/Table Input Field No Reference or identifier for the ticket allocation/seat/table.
Ticket Price Input Field No Price of the ticket.
Allocation Status Dropdown Field No

Allocation status of the ticket. Options include the following:

  • Allocated
  • Unallocated
Confirmation Status Dropdown Field No

Confirmation status of the ticket. Options include the following:

  • Confirmed
  • Unconfirmed
  • Cancelled
Attended Dropdown Field No This field is used to track whether an attendee came to the event. It can also be used to track whether the user is at the event, preventing them from using the same ticket multiple times.
QR Code URL Input Field No Universal Resource Locator (URL) of the ticket QR code.
Group ID Input Field No Group ID for the ticket.
Notes Text Area No Notes concerning the ticket.
CRM Contact Dropdown Field No Ticket attendee. Attendees are selected from the CRM contact list.
CRM Company Dropdown Field No The CRM company the attendee is associated with.
Dietary Requirements Text Area No Dietary requirements of the attendee.
Ecommerce Order Dropdown Field No Ecommerce order associated with the ticket.

Sitemap

Use this tab to manage your sitemap. The sitemap serves as a roadmap for search engine crawlers, helping them navigate and understand the structure of your pages. Designing your sitemap well improves your web page's chances of ranking higher and appearing more frequently in search results. The input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

Add To System Sitemap Toggle No Add or hide the ticket from the system sitemap.
Priority Input Field No The priority of this ticket's URL relative to other ticket URLs on the site. Valid values range from 0.0 to 1.0. URLs are sorted in descending order.
Order Input Field No The order of this ticket's URL in relation to other URLs having the same priority value. Similar priority URLs are sorted in ascending order.
Change Frequency Dropdown Field No

An indication provided to search engines about how often this ticket page will likely change or be updated. Options include the following:

  • Always
  • Hourly
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Yearly

Crawlers treat the values chosen as a 'hint,' not a 'command.' For example, crawlers may crawl pages marked 'hourly' less frequently than that.

Metadata

Use this tab to manage ticket metadata. Input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.

Canonical URL Input Field No Canonical URL to prevent duplicate content issues in SEO.
Meta Title Input Field No Title of metadata. A good title has between 40 - 60 characters.
Meta Description Text Area No Description of this metadata. A good meta description has between 150 - 160 characters.

Open Graph

This tab allows you to optimize your Open Graph settings. Open Graph is an internet protocol that standardizes metadata usage within a webpage, allowing you to optimize your content to stand out from other online content. The table below outlines input requirements and descriptions.

Use Meta Title As Open Graph Title Toggle No Enable this option to use the meta title as the Open Graph title. Otherwise, turn the option off if you want to use a different title.
Open Graph Title Input Field No Customized title for your ticket's post on your chosen social media platform. The field can only be used if the 'Use Meta Title as Open Graph Title' option is turned off.
Use Meta Description As Open Graph Description Toggle No Enable this option to use your site's meta description as the Open Graph description. This tag is considered the most important tag of your ticket post. It typically appears as a one—or two-sentence snippet that previews the ticket post.
Open Graph Description Text Area No A customized description for your ticket's post on your chosen social media platform. The field can only be used if the 'Use Meta Description as Open Graph Description' option is turned off. Write this carefully; a good description can mean the difference between getting clicks.
Open Graph Image Dropzone No The image on the preview of your content. The maximum file size is 10MB.
Open Graph URL Input Field No URL (link) that is associated with your content.
Open Graph Site Name Input Field No The name of your site.
Open Graph Type Input Field No Type of content your ticket is posted on, i.e., website, article, or blog.

Schema

Schema markup is a structured data vocabulary that helps search engines understand parts of your web application more deeply. This data enables them to serve better results to end-users. The table below displays input requirements and descriptions.

Media

Use this tab to upload media, such as images and videos. To add media, select one of the clickable fields and choose a file to upload. You can also drag and drop a file from your local machine onto the clickable field.

Note

Please take note of the following information when uploading media to your products:


  • Use the 'Gallery' tab to upload images as best practice.
  • You can add up to four media files with a maximum size of 10MB each.

Gallery

You can use this tab to manage image galleries for your event.

Note

Take note of the following system behaviors when uploading images to the gallery:


  • This tab only allows you to add image files. Use the 'Media' tab to add videos and other media.
  • One field corresponds to an image gallery. You can upload 200 images per album.
  • Recommended image dimensions are 1280px by 1280px. The maximum file size is up to 10MB per image.

System Fields

This tab allows you to use the system fields created and managed using the Event System Fields feature.

Custom Fields

This tab allows you to use the custom fields created and managed using the Event Custom Fields feature.

FAQs

This tab allows you to manage the FAQs you wish to display on the web page concerning the event. Input requirements and descriptions are displayed in the table below.
