Layouts

Last updated on October 10, 2026.

Layouts control the design and structure of your pages. They act as templates that wrap your page content with consistent headers, footers, and navigation, so you can update the design in one place and have it apply across your application.

Editing a Layout

To edit a layout:

  1. Select CMS on the main menu.
  2. Choose Layouts.
  3. Choose the layout you want to update and click on its Edit row action link.
  4. Make your changes and select Save.

Duplicating a Layout

To duplicate a layout:

  1. Select CMS on the main menu.
  2. Choose Layouts.
  3. Choose the layout you want to duplicate and click on its Edit row action link.
  4. Select Duplicate at the bottom of the form, then select Duplicate Layout on the confirmation. Insites creates the copy straight away and returns to the Layouts list.

Notes:

  • Duplicating a layout creates a new copy of the layout you are editing. The layout path is appended with '_copy' to indicate that it is a duplicate layout. The copied layout's path can still be updated.
  • Duplicated layouts are saved automatically. The copy also has ' Copy' added to its name. Edit the copy to change its name or path.

Deleting Layouts

To delete layouts:

  1. Select CMS on the main menu.
  2. Choose Layouts.
  3. Select the layouts that you want to delete by ticking the checkboxes to the left of their rows. Tick the topmost checkbox to select all layouts.
  4. Click on the Bulk Actions dropdown button and select Delete.
  5. Click APPLY and select DELETE on the confirmation modal.
  6. You may also delete a layout by clicking on its Delete row action link.
Note: Layouts and pages are both deleted permanently. Neither has an archive.
