Set your date format and time zone

Last updated 4 November 2026

How dates and times show across the admin.

Every date and time in the admin, from a contact's last activity to a task's due date, is shown in the instance's format and time zone. Set them once, before your team starts entering data, so nobody reads 03/04 as the wrong month. You need to be an administrator of the instance.

Choose the display format

  1. In the admin, go to Settings > Localization. The screen shows the current time in your instance's time zone and in UTC, so you can check the result as you go.
  2. Under Display Format, select Edit.
  3. Pick a Date Format. The choices are day-month-year, month-day-year and year-month-day, each with a slash, a hyphen or a dot between the parts, for example DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD.
  4. Pick a Time Format, then Save.

Set the time zone

  1. On the same screen, under Instance Time Zone, select Edit.
  2. Choose your Timezone from the list and Save.

The current time at the top of the screen updates straight away, so you can confirm you picked the right zone.

Note

The setting changes how dates and times are shown, not how they are stored. Records keep their exact moment, so changing the zone later does not shift anything; it only changes the clock they are displayed in.
