Upload your logo and files

Put your images and documents on the instance and use one on a page.
Assets is where your images, documents and other files live. This guide uploads your first files into folders, tags them so you can find them again, and puts one image on a page. It takes about ten minutes.
Create a folder and upload
- In the admin, go to Assets > All Assets. The folder tree is on the left, the files in the selected folder in the middle, and the details of the selected file on the right.
- Select the folder that should hold the new one, then Add Folder. Type a name, for example Brand, and select Add Folder. Spaces and some punctuation in a name become hyphens.
- With the folder selected, select Upload, add your files in the Attachments area, and select the upload button at the foot of the drawer.
You can upload up to 100 files at a time, each up to 600 MB, unless an administrator has set a lower limit or blocked a file type. If a file with the same name is already in the folder, the drawer asks you to confirm, and uploading replaces it.
Tag and find files
Select a file, choose Edit Tags in the toolbar, add one or more tags and Save. Tags find a file wherever it sits in the tree: the search bar above the file list searches by File Name or by Tags.
Put an image on a page
- Select the image in All Assets. In the details panel, find Liquid Code and select the copy button beside it. The code names your file and turns it into the file's address when the page runs.
- Open the page under CMS > Pages and wrap the code in an image tag where the picture should appear, with a short description in
alt. The exact tag is in Use an image on a page. - Save the page and open it in your browser.
Where Liquid does not run, such as in another website, copy the file's URL field instead.
Note
Browsers keep a copy of a file's address for a long time. To change an image later, upload the new one under a new name and update the page, rather than replacing the file under the old name.
Tidy up
Archive File moves a file out of the way and Restore File brings it back. Delete File and Delete Folder remove things for good, and deleting a folder deletes everything inside it. You type DELETE to confirm.
