Assets Navigation

Last updated on April 03, 2026.

The Assets interface is built around two elements: files and folders. The toolbar at the top changes based on what you have selected, and the layout is split into three areas: the folder tree on the left, the file list in the center, and the file detail panel on the right.

Sidebar Menu

The Assets section in the sidebar contains three pages:

  • All Assets - The main file manager for browsing, uploading, and managing files and folders
  • Event Stream - A timeline of all file and folder activity (uploads, edits, deletes, archives)
  • Reports - Storage usage metrics displayed as a line chart over time

  2. Select a folder in the left panel to view its contents
  3. Use the Up One Folder button in the toolbar to go back to the parent folder

File Detail Panel

When you select a file, a detail panel appears on the right showing:

  • File Name - The name of the selected file
  • URL - The direct URL to the file, with a copy button for easy access
  • Liquid Code - A ready-to-use Liquid code snippet for rendering the file in pages and templates, with a copy button
  • Tags - Any tags associated with the file
  • Last Updated - The date and time the file was last modified
  • Updated By - The name of the administrator who last modified the file

For image files (PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, SVG, TIFF, BMP, WEBP), a preview of the image is also displayed in the detail panel.

Search

Use the search bar to find files quickly. You can search in two modes:

  • File Name - Filters the current file list by matching part of the file name
  • Tags - Searches across all files for matching tags

Switch between search modes using the filter dropdown next to the search bar.

View Modes

Toggle between two display modes using the toolbar buttons:

  • List View - Displays files in a table format with the file name and last updated date
  • Grid View - Displays files as thumbnails in a grid, showing image previews for supported file types and a file icon for other types
