Assets Navigation

Navigation on Assets revolves around two items:

  • Files
  • Folders

The menu items change depending on whether you have chosen a File or a Folder. The succeeding sections discuss this system behaviour in more detail.

Navigation Glossary

The following table describes the menu bar actions:

Menu ItemIconAppears WhenDescription
Up One Folder A File or a Folder is selected. Go back to the immediate higher-level Folder.
Refresh A File or a Folder is selected. Refresh the Folder or File list.
Upload A File or a Folder is selected. Upload a File.
Download A File is selected. Download the selected File.
Create Folder A File or a Folder is selected. Create a Folder inside the current directory.
Edit Tags A File is selected Associate tags with the selected File.
Archive File A File is selected. Archive the selected File.
List View A File or a Folder is selected. Display Files or Folders in a list.
Grid View A File or a Folder is selected. Display Files or Folders in a grid format.

Folder Navigation

To navigate to your Folders:

  1. Navigate to Assets from the main menu.
  2. Select All Assets. Your Assets are organized into Folders on the leftmost pane on the 'Assets' page.
  3. Click on the Folder you want to view.

The actions on the menu bar (from left to right) are listed below:

  • Up One Folder
  • Refresh
  • Add Folder
  • Upload
  • List View
  • Grid View

File Navigation

To navigate to your Files:

  1. Navigate to Assets from the main menu.
  2. Select All Assets.
  3. Click on the Folder where the File you want to view is located. This action displays a list of Files on a display pane next to the list of Folders.
  4. Click on one of the Files. This action reveals additional menu items that enable you to manage Files.

The available actions for Files (from left to right) are:

  • Up One Folder
  • Refresh
  • Add Folder
  • Upload
  • Download
  • Edit Tags
  • Archive
  • List View
  • Grid View

Additional Details and Actions for Files

Selecting a File opens a display pane containing a preview image or icon of the File, along with the following details and actions:

  • FILENAME: Name of the File.
  • URL: Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the File. You can use this to render assets such as images onto a page.
  • LIQUID CODE: Provides a liquid code snippet for the File. You can copy this snippet and apply it to your code.
  • LAST UPDATED: Displays the date and time when the File was last updated.
  • UPDATED BY: Displays the name of the latest entity that modified the File.
