Creating an Instance

There are two places you can go to create an Instance:

  • Create an Instance on the 'Instances' main page.
  • Create an Instance inside an existing folder.

We discuss each method in the next sections.

Creating an Instance on the 'Instances' Main Page

To create an Instance directly on the 'Instances' main page:

  1. Navigate to Instances from the main menu.
  2. Select CREATE INSTANCE.
  3. Fill out the form. See the table below for the list of input requirements and descriptions.
  4. Select SAVE.

These are the input requirements and descriptions for creating an Instance.

Name Text Field Yes Name of the Instance. Please provide a unique name. If the name you provide exists elsewhere in the Insites platform, the system throws an error, and you are prompted to provide another name for your Instance.
Tags Text Field No Tags associated with your Instance. You can add up to 5 tags to your Instance.
Thumbnail Clickable Area No Thumbnail of your Instance. Image sizes must be 500 x 200px, and the file must be a PNG or JPEG.
Environment Dropdown Field Yes The environment of your Instance. Available options are:
  • Staging
  • Production
Data Centre Dropdown Field YesData centre used by the Instance.
Billing Plan Dropdown Field Yes Billing plan used by the Instance.

Creating an Instance Inside an Existing Folder.

To create an Instance inside a folder:

  1. Navigate to Instances from the main menu.
  2. Navigate to the folder you want to create an Instance in. Click on the folder tile (grid view) or folder name (list view) to open a folder. You can also use the [] icon on the folder tile in grid view.
  3. Select CREATE INSTANCE.
  4. Select SAVE.
