Creating an Instance

There are two places you can go to create an Instance:

• Create an Instance on the 'Instances' main page.
• Create an Instance inside an existing folder.

We discuss each method in the next sections.

Creating an Instance on the 'Instances' Main Page

To create an Instance directly on the 'Instances' main page:

1. Navigate to Instances from the main menu.
2. Select Create instance.
3. Follow the steps of the wizard. Step 1: enter the instance name and URL, and choose Build and test (staging, free) or Go live (production). You can also pick a folder and add tags. Step 2: choose how to start: from a template or from scratch. Step 3: pick a template, if you chose one. For production, choose a plan: Starter, Growth, Business or Pro, paid monthly or yearly. Last step: Review & create.
4. Select Create instance on the Review & create step. For a production instance, you then go to a secure checkout.

These are the input requirements and descriptions for step 1 of the wizard.

There is no thumbnail, data center or billing plan field in step 1. You add a thumbnail later with Edit details on the instance.

Creating an Instance Inside an Existing Folder.

To create an Instance inside a folder:

1. Navigate to Instances from the main menu.
2. Select Create instance.
3. In step 1 of the wizard, open Advanced options and choose the folder.
4. Select Create instance on the Review & create step.
