The following UI elements are available for the 'Float' field type:

  • Decimal
  • Stepper

The system displays the following conditional fields for both of these UI elements:

Mandatory Toggle No When enabled, a numeric value must be entered to save the record. When disabled, the field may be left blank.

In addition, the contents of the 'Appearance' tab for each UI element under the 'Float' field type are detailed in the succeeding sections.

Decimal

The input requirements for the 'Decimal' UI element's form in the 'Appearance' tab are as follows:

Show in table view Toggle No Determines whether the field value is displayed as a column within the Instance Admin data index.
Sortable in table view Toggle No Enables administrators to organize records numerically (ascending or descending) by clicking the column header.
Help Text (Tooltip) Text Area No Instructional text that appears on hover; useful for specifying required decimal places or rounding rules.
Column Width in table view (%) Number Field No Sets the horizontal width (1–100%) of the column to ensure high-precision numbers are fully visible.

Stepper

The form input requirements for this UI element's 'Appearance' tab are similar to those for the 'Decimal' UI element.
